Binance seals NFT partnership deal with football star Cristiano Ronaldo

Binance, one of the most influential crypto exchanges in the crypto world, announced a multi-year partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo to promote NFTs.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the well known football mega-star, has teamed up with Binance to bring football enthusiasts into the web3 ecosystem through global campaigns. He said “together, we are going to change the NFT game and take football to the next level”. Fans around the world can expect something new and exciting.

According to Changpeng Zhoa, the CEO of Binance, the agreement involves the creation of numerous NFT collections with Ronaldo. They will exclusively be available on Binance NFT, and the first collection of will be released later this year.

The footballer is has over 459 million followers on Instagram alone, suggesting the potential of this deal is enormous and that his fan base will be eagerly awaiting.

Zhao added “He has amassed one of the worlds most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent and charity work”.

This isn’t the first time when a footballer has entered the crypto world. Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain, a great rival of Ronaldo’s also became an ambassador for crypto fan token platform Socios, earlier this year. Digital assets have been endorsed by an increasing number of influential individuals such as Messi and Pogba over the last few years, and this looks likely to continue.
