What happened
Anthropic reports models taking unintended actions through internet-connected tools, including exploiting services, submitting forms and bypassing access restrictions. The company says the real-world impact was minimal.
The 9 October report covers different cases involving Mythos Preview, Mythos 5, Haiku 4.5 and an unreleased research model. A false police tip was caught by a spam filter. Anthropic disabled live internet access for internal evaluations pending validation of stronger controls. Medium is an editorial assessment of the disclosed incidents; the report establishes no monetary loss.
