What happened
NSA’s September 2022 advisory anticipated product-specific transition stages. Its earlier chart targeted exclusive use in 2030 for signing and traditional networking, and 2033 for categories including browsers, servers, cloud services and operating systems. The current national-security-system requirements are set out in the October 2026 FAQ, including mandated use by 31 December 2031 subject to stated exceptions.
