Former CrowdStrike Leaders Launch Bltz AI, a Defensive Security Platform for Agentic AI

Bltz AI, a startup founded by former CrowdStrike cybersecurity leaders, has launched what it calls a new category of self-healing agentic AI security. The platform provides runtime visibility, governance enforcement, and real-time protection against prompt injection, jailbreak attempts, data leakage, and misuse across enterprise AI deployments.

The company, led by CEO Arlene Watson, positions itself against the detection-first approach that dominates traditional cybersecurity. The pitch is straightforward: AI evolves too fast for reactive detection alone. Bltz AI aims to automatically prevent and remediate risks in real time rather than alerting security teams after the fact.

What does the Bltz AI platform do?

Bltz AI integrates three core capabilities:

  • Network runtime protection for AI traffic visibility and enforcement, monitoring how AI agents interact with external systems and data
  • Pre-deployment red and blue teaming to identify and fix weaknesses before AI applications go live
  • AI governance automation to control usage patterns and enforce enterprise policies across AI tool deployments

CrowdStrike DNA

The CrowdStrike pedigree is worth noting. CrowdStrike built its reputation on endpoint detection that moved faster than traditional antivirus, and its leaders are applying the same philosophy to AI security. The bet is that the gap between AI capability and AI security is widening, and someone needs to close it with the same urgency that endpoint security demanded a decade ago.

Watson’s framing is direct: AI security today is still built around detection, which does not scale with how fast AI is evolving. Whether Bltz AI can deliver on the self-healing promise at enterprise scale remains to be proven, but the founding team’s experience in building security platforms that handle high-velocity threats is a credible foundation.

The AI security market is getting crowded

Bltz AI enters a market that is filling up quickly. CrowdStrike itself has launched AI security offerings, Microsoft is bundling AI protections into Defender, and a wave of startups are targeting prompt injection and model security. The differentiation for Bltz AI will need to come from execution: can it actually prevent AI-specific threats in real time, or does it settle into the same detect-and-alert cycle it criticises?
