Chainlink has partnered with the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to bring foreign exchange and precious metals data onto blockchain networks. The collaboration integrates ICE’s Consolidated Feed into Chainlink Data Streams, enhancing over 2,000 onchain applications.
Chainlink and ICE: A New Financial Frontier
The integration of ICE’s market data marks a significant milestone in the evolution of onchain finance. With data sourced from over 300 global exchanges, the ICE Consolidated Feed will now contribute to the derived data sets powering Chainlink Data Streams. This move aims to support the development of tokenised assets and institutional-grade blockchain applications by meeting traditional market standards.
Bridging Traditional and Blockchain Markets
By incorporating ICE’s data, Chainlink aims to deliver pricing feeds that meet the accuracy and latency requirements of traditional capital markets. This standard could help support a new generation of tokenized assets, automated settlement systems and other institutional-grade blockchain applications. The collaboration signifies a pivotal shift towards a unified, globally accessible onchain financial system.

The Growing Demand for Tokenised Assets
The announcement comes amid rising demand for tokenised real-world assets (RWAs). Standard Chartered predicts the RWA market could reach over $30 trillion by 2034. Data tracker RWA.xyz shows RWAs onchain total about $25.7 billion, with stablecoins exceeding $260 billion. This partnership positions Chainlink to support the tokenisation of trillions in assets, highlighting its push to bring institutional-grade standards to DeFi.
A Step Towards Mainstream Adoption
Maurisa Baumann, VP of Global Data Delivery Platforms at ICE, stated that the collaboration with Chainlink offers “trusted, structured multi-asset class data” for crypto applications, a key step toward growing the blockchain economy. Fernando Vazquez, President of Capital Markets at Chainlink Labs, noted that this collaboration signals a pivotal shift towards a unified, globally accessible onchain financial system.
