Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP): The regulatory label for a business that handles crypto on someone else's behalf: exchanges, custodians, brokers and payment processors. Being a VASP is what brings a crypto firm inside financial rules on licensing, anti-money-laundering checks and customer protection, rather than leaving it outside them.
