MCN Labs reward flaw causes a reported $92,600 loss

What happened

An attacker manipulated the pool balances used to calculate MCN Labs rewards, causing a loss estimated by SlowMist at $92,600. The transaction occurred on 29 September at 17:53 UTC; SlowMist reported it on 30 September.

Reward accrual used the pool’s MSN reserve at one point, while claiming used its later balance. The attacker reduced the reserve before rewards accrued and increased it before claiming, inflating the payout. The resulting 1.44m FIST claim includes money moved during the operation, so the dollar loss remains attributed to SlowMist’s analysis.
