Quant’s QNT token rose about 278% between the 23 and 29 September daily closes, following a banking technology announcement. The Clearing House announced on 24 September that it had selected Quant to help run a US network for tokenised bank deposits.

The planned service will let banks clear and settle digital representations of deposits across a shared network. It is expected to open to participating institutions in the first half of 2027, with links to payment systems banks already use.

QNT climbed from $70.68 to $267.20

CoinGecko’s UTC daily closes show QNT rising from $70.68 on 23 September to $267.20 on 29 September. A calculation from those closes gives the 278% gain. The historical series also shows a sharp reversal within that period.

Date, September 2026 QNT daily close
23 September $70.68
24 September $90.16
25 September $98.68
26 September $152.58
27 September $286.92
28 September $230.59
29 September $267.20

The percentage compares two completed daily closes, so it describes a six-day move. Prices fluctuated substantially along the way: the 28 September close was below the previous day’s $286.92. The timing places the rally after the partnership announcement; price history alone cannot measure how much buying the announcement caused.

Quant will connect banks and payment systems

Quant will provide the software that coordinates tokenised deposit transactions and connects the new network to existing payment systems. The September announcement names three jobs: interoperability, orchestration and transaction management. Together, those functions let different systems exchange instructions and coordinate clearing and settlement.

The planned links include RTP, The Clearing House’s real-time payments network, and CHIPS, its high-value payments network.

The operator introduced the wider project on 5 June. It said the design would support automated workflows, richer transaction data and 24/7 settlement of tokenised commercial bank money.

A tokenised deposit is still bank money

A tokenised deposit represents money deposited with a bank, recorded and transferred using a digital token. The Clearing House says its model preserves the protections and regulatory oversight of a traditional deposit while allowing transfers to follow rules agreed in advance.

That could support a business payment that executes when specified conditions are met, or a treasury team moving liquidity between accounts around the clock. The announcement identifies corporate treasury, liquidity management, cross-border payments and digital asset settlement as intended uses.

The June launch statement said banks of all sizes would be able to participate through shared infrastructure. Quant’s selection supplies a named technology provider for that plan, with participating institutions expected to gain access during the first half of 2027.
